About Me

About Me: Hello! My name is Kaitie. Prior to this year I was a teacher. I taught grades 4, 5, and 6 for the past 17 years. I loved it, and still do. I do see myself going back to teaching, but I just couldn't say no to this "Golden Opportunity."

How/why did you decide to do this? Many people have asked us how/why we started this journey, and to be honest, I'm not 100% sure. I do remember during Covid lockdowns John and I would "travel" via YouTube and note all of the countries we wanted to travel to post Covid. However, with Covid and our dog, we knew international travel was a few  years off. So, we somehow got down the YouTube rabbit hole of living in an RV and traveling the USA, and well, here we are... living in our RV and traveling the USA.

What's been the hardest part so far? The hardest part was when we started to sell things that I remembered people giving us as gifts. I felt like I was letting them down by selling it. However, two of those people (without me asking) both reassured me that while I had it, I used it, and they didn't mind me selling it. Once I had that "approval" it was MUCH easier and absolutely freeing. We realized how much stuff we had that was just STUFF. And, if I am being honest, I still have more STUFF than I really need. 

What am I most excited to do? Make memories and see things I NEVER thought I'd take the time to see.
